A bridal trial is where your wedding day look actually gets designed, not just previewed. If you've never had one before, here's exactly what to expect and how to get the most out of the appointment.
When to book your trial
It's best to get in touch as early as you can once your date is confirmed, since bridal dates book up well in advance. A trial is usually worth arranging a few months ahead of the wedding, giving us time to get your exact look right without any last-minute pressure.
What happens during the appointment
A trial is a relaxed, collaborative session, not a rushed rehearsal. We'll talk through the look you're picturing, any inspiration photos you've saved, your dress and colour palette, and how you want to feel on the day. From there, I'll build your look with you, checking in as we go so nothing feels like a guess.
What to bring
- Any inspiration photos you've saved, even a rough Pinterest board is genuinely useful
- Photos of your dress, or a description of the neckline and colour
- Any skin concerns or product sensitivities I should know about
- A photo of yourself in good natural light beforehand, so I can see how makeup wears on your skin day to day
Take photos before you leave
Makeup can look slightly different on camera than in the mirror, so I'd always recommend taking a few photos in different lighting before you leave the trial. That way you can sit with the look for a few days and come back with any tweaks in mind.
What a trial costs
